A small collapse zone north of the International District Hydrothermal Field showing characteristic bathtub rings and talus rubble that is the remanents of the roof.
Lava Blisters:
During formation of lobate flows and pillow features, the molten lava may drain from within solidified lobes or pillows before crystallizing. If the outer cooled crust fractures, small ‘blisters’ with an empty cavity result.
Skylights:
Small areas of collapse provide a window-like view – called skylights – into the emptied lava pond cavity underneath.
