Madison Shipley is a senior studying Oceanography and Aquatic and Fishery Sciences at the University of Washington, and minoring in Marine Biology and Quantitative Science. She has an interest in acoustics and did her senior thesis research for oceanography on the soundscape of Portage Bay and potential impacts of anthropogenic sound on local marine life. Madison also worked on the ERIS cabled observatory and is working on a geophone hydrophone package. She works at APL in the Acoustic Seaglider Lab and hopes to pursue future research in the spatial distribution of organisms using acoustics and autonomous underwater vehicles.
